Don't forget to give Carnegie's book to your Slavic girlfriend this day |
Do you know what the holiday of November 24 is? Have you ever read Dale Carnegie's books? Has your Russian lady read? Are you a psychologist and are interested in professional literature or are you just friends with a Slavic woman and may celebrate this holiday with pleasure?
Day of Friends or, in literal translation, the Day of Conquering Friends and Influencing People is celebrated in the United States every year on November 24, the birthday of the famous American psychologist and writer Dale Carnegie (1888-1955), the author of How to Win Friends and Influence People. First published in 1936, this book immediately became a bestseller, continuing to be sold well in our days. Dale Carnegie was born on a Maryville farm in Missouri. The family lived in great poverty, however, he was able to enter the State Pedagogical College in Warrensburg and get a good education.
In an effort to overcome the inferiority complex caused by property status, Dale Carnegie was looking for an opportunity to excel. Practising the oratorical art in student discussions, he unexpectedly discovered that he had found some ways of effective communication, some of which he told in his books.
This day in the bookstores and in the most prominent places in the USA the books of Carnegie are exhibited, November 24 are brought up especially well. Universities and schools hold lectures and seminars, various discussions that help young people "find themselves" when communicating, giving recommendations on how to build relationships when entering a society. |
